ONE Pro Cycling are proud to support Sanlam UK, as a team of cycling enthusiasts from the wealth management firm set off today on a 9-day cycle challenge across the country, in a bid to raise £100,000 for CASCAID and Cancer Research UK

Led by CEO Jonathan Polin, the “Great Sanlam Cycling Challenge” will involve team members from 12 of Sanlam UK’s regional offices, as they each attempt to cycle a total of 850 miles across the country.

The tour will officially set off from London to Marlow and Fareham today. Over the course of the next 9 days, the team will be riding up and down the country, stopping at all of Sanlam UK’s regional offices: Bath, Bristol, Worcester, St Asaph, Kirkby Lonsdale, Harrogate, Teesside and Sevenoaks. The last leg of the cycle challenge will see the team head back into London.

The Sanlam team will be joined on the route by professional cycling outfit ONE Pro Cycling, headed up by chief executive and former English international cricketer Matt Prior, who himself will join the challenge for three legs of the journey.

Sanlam UK – part of Sanlam Limited, the global financial services group – is supporting CASCAID, the UK asset management industry’s initiative to raise more than £2 million for Cancer Research UK by 31 December 2017.

In addition to the “Great Sanlam Cycling Challenge”, the firm’s regional offices will be holding a range of events including a three peaks challenge, cake sales, a charity quiz, raffles and a static bike ride challenge.

Jonathan Polin, CEO of Sanlam UK, said: “We are excited by the opportunity to support this incredible charity, whose work is so crucial in understanding how to cure cancer. We are aiming to contribute £100,000 towards CASCAID’s £2 million target, and we have every confidence that we will reach this target.”

Matt Prior, chief executive of ONE Pro Cycling, said: “We are delighted to be helping Sanlam complete this epic challenge for such a worthy cause. Our experienced team will be on hand to provide support as they make their journey across the country, and I’m excited to jump on the saddle and offer words of encouragement along the way.”
