ONE Pro Cycling are delighted to announce Kamil Gradek will join the team as the thirteenth rider for the 2017 season.

At 26 years of age, Kamil Gradek will join ONE Pro Cycling from Pro Continental Team Verva ActiveJet. The Polish rider has a wealth of experience having raced at international level for the past eight years, competing in UCI races both in his homeland Poland and further afield.

In 2013, Gradek joined UCI team BDC Marcpol for two seasons before moving to Polish Continental Cycling Team, ActiveJet. An integral part of the team, Gradek formed part of the squad when his team made the move to Pro Continental level in 2016 under the name of Verva ActiveJet.

Unfortunately at the end of their debut year as a Pro Conti team, Verva ActiveJet announced they were stopping operations and left the Polish talent without a team. Commenting on his recent signing with ONE Pro Cycling, Gradek said,

I would like to thank Matt Prior for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to join ONE Pro Cycling for the 2017 season. I know that being part of the team will bring me new experiences and continue to help me develop as a rider. I’m really thankful that ONE Pro Cycling has helped me in such a difficult situation and given me a chance, a possibility, to show my potential on the road.

One of the highlights of Gradek’s season last year was during the World Tour race Cyclassics Hamburg when he was caught just 200 metres from the finish, coming agonisingly close to a podium position after a long day in the break. Whilst his biggest result to date, is taking an impressive victory in the General Classification at the Tour of China in 2014.

Representing Poland at both the World and European Road Championships in both the Time Trial and Road Races, Gradek is a former U23 National Time Trial Champion and finished 2nd in the senior event in 2015, showcasing his strength and endurance on the bike.

Head Sports Director Matt Winston sealed the deal with Gradek following weeks of close communication and believes the Polish talent is the perfect complement to the teams current twelve strong rider roster.

I am delighted to welcome Kamil to ONE Pro Cycling, we have been speaking for a few weeks now since he found he would be left without a team for 2017 and I know he’ll be a great fit. Not only will he offer us strength in our stage races as he proved in several races throughout 2016 but he’s not afraid to be aggressive in his racing, which certainly suits our style. I look forward to seeing him in action in ONE Pro colours.

With no time to waste, Gradek will meet his new team mates and support staff over the next few days before making his debut appearance at the Jock Wadley Road Race on Sunday 12 March in Colchester, Essex.
